Myrjam Klemt erwarb ihren Bachelor of Arts in Volkswirtschaftslehre und Soziologie an der Georg-August-Universität Göttingen. Hierbei legte sie einen besonderen Fokus auf die Anwendung quantitativer und qualitativer Forschungsmethoden. Ihre akademische Laufbahn setzte sie mit einem Master of Arts in Soziologie fort, mit einem Schwerpunkt auf Organisations- und Wirtschaftssoziologie, sowie einem Master of Science in Development Economics an der Georg-August Universität und der Seoul National University.

In ihrer aktuellen Forschung im Rahmen ihres Promotionsvorhabens widmet sie sich dem interdisziplinären Forschungsfeld der Energieökonomik, mit besonderem Augenmerk auf geothermische Ressourcen. Ihre Dissertation untersucht die behavioralen Aspekte der Adoption erneuerbarer Energien auf individueller Ebene, wobei sie sich spezifisch auf die Sektoren der Wärme- und Stromversorgung konzentriert.
